Start your career in HR with an apprenticeship that puts you at the centre of people-focused work across our business. As a People Support Apprentice, you’ll play an important role in helping our People Team deliver a professional, efficient, and supportive service to employees at every level.
From day one, you’ll be learning on the job - gaining hands-on experience in core HR activities such as absence monitoring, maintaining employee records, recruitment support and contributing to internal communications. You’ll also develop your understanding of policies, employment legislation, and best practice in a real HR environment.
This isn’t just an entry-level role - it’s an opportunity to grow, gain confidence, and build a strong foundation for your future HR career. If you’re organised, people-focussed, and keen to make a difference, we’ll give you the training, guidance, and support to thrive.
What You’ll Learn with Us
As a People Support Apprentice, you’ll build practical experience across a range of HR and people-related tasks. You’ll learn how to:
• Build effective working relationships across all departments and levels.
• Provide administrative support on absence monitoring, performance management, and disciplinary processes.
• Maintain accurate personnel files and HR databases in line with GDPR requirements.
• Assist with drafting and distributing internal communications, newsletters, and People updates.
• Support internal and external recruitment activity including job postings, arranging pre employment checks and appointments, BPSS screening, and onboarding.
• Contribute to general People Team administrative duties and daily operations.
• Work safely, following company HSSE policies, and report unsafe acts or conditions using the Near Miss System.
• Provide accurate and timely data and reports when required.
Who We’re Looking For
You’ll be a great fit if you:
• Are organised, dependable, and take pride in the quality of your work.
• Are proactive and willing to take ownership of your tasks.
• Communicate well and enjoy supporting others.
• Like to understand how things work and are open to learning every day.
• Build strong working relationships and can work well with a variety of people.
• Are motivated to grow your skills in a supportive HR environment.
If you’ve achieved SCQF Level 5 or above, including English - and ideally a Business or Administration-related subject - you’re already in a great position to get started. Being comfortable using Word, Excel, and PowerPoint will also help. Strong numeracy, good attention to detail, and organisational skills will help you succeed, and if you communicate well, enjoy working with others, and can handle confidential information, you’ll fit right in.
We’ll fully support you as you work towards your SVQ in Business and Administration at SCQF Level 6 as part of your Modern Apprenticeship, helping you build your skills and confidence along the way.
What We Offer
• Full mentoring and development throughout the apprenticeship.
• Hands on experience in a professional HR environment.
• A friendly and experienced People Team committed to helping you grow.
• Opportunities to build confidence, knowledge, and practical HR skills.
