Our niche, world-class energetics portfolio provides high-reliability, single-use devices that perform critical functions for the space, aerospace, defence and industrial markets including satellite deployment, aircrew egress and aircraft safety systems.
The Group has a premium listing on the London Stock Exchange and is a FTSE 250 constituent. The head office is based in Romsey (UK) with operations across the UK, USA, Norway and Australia.
The role
There is a vacancy within the head office Group finance team. The role will be based at the Group head office in Romsey, involving occasional UK and international travel to subsidiaries.
This is a flexible and varied role offering the opportunity for significant career development and learning from an experienced and high performing Group finance team as well exposure to the Group executive team. The responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Assist in the preparation of the group monthly management accounts
- Analysis of group results and forecasts
- Modelling of risks to group forecast profit and cash
- Assist with group technical accounting matters such as share based payments, goodwill impairment, going concern reviews, tax
- Assist with the preparation of accounting papers and other finance related presentations to the PLC board
- Review / challenge of subsidiary budgets and 5 year plans
- Support the completion of the PLC annual report, RNS and subsidiary UK statutory accounts
- Assist with the group internal audit programme
- Assist with managing the group external audit process
- Prepare and maintain accounting for head office entities
- Providing support to business units with accounting and operational matters
- Ad-hoc support around the group with modelling of bids, tenders and CAPEX proposals
- Ad-hoc support in the modelling of future acquisitions and disposals
- Support roll out of Group ERP solution
The Candidate
Qualified accountant – ACA, CIMA, ACCA
The successful candidate will require:
- Background and good communication skills both verbally and written - The ability to analyse, understand and challenge
- The ability to use your own initiative when necessary and pursue issues.
- To be comfortable working alone and as team player
- The ability to assess the importance of the issues identified and suggest practical solutions
- Confidence in presenting and defending arguments
- Intermediate Excel/power point skills
Remuneration
The role is ideally suited to someone 0-2 years post qualified and therefore remuneration is dependent on experience. We have provided indicative ranges below:
- Base salary - £45-60k depending on experience
- Bonus – up to 20%
