We’re delighted to welcome Lyndsay to our team as our new Director of Human Resources for Chemring Sensors and Electronic Systems (CSES) & Roke USA. Lyndsay joins us at an exciting time and will play a key role in the development of our people strategy as we grow.
Here Lyndsay shares her first impressions of Chemring and what she’s most looking forward to in her new role.
Can you tell us a bit about your career to date and what led you to this role?
Over the past two decades, I have held multiple roles in Human Resources (HR) for both large and small organisations. Early in my career, I had the opportunity to gain global HR experience abroad, working on an M&A project that lasted years. More recently, I have served as a Senior Leader in HR in the Metals Manufacturing and Aerospace industries. In joining Chemring, I’ve been impressed with the culture and the idea of working for a company that aligns my purpose and passion with my career.
What excites you most about our mission and the work we do at Chemring?
I am most excited to be a part of an organisation whose mission is rooted in the protection of others. This gives me a sense of pride and purpose that I am part of a team that is dedicated to innovation with a sense of altruism.
What are your first impressions of Chemring?
I can already see that the people here are passionate and truly invested in what they do. There is a high level of support, respect, autonomy, trust, and grace from leadership and peers alike.
What are you most looking forward to as you begin this role?
I am most looking forward to collaborating with multiple teams and immersing myself in the business. The best way I can support Chemring in my role is to first learn and understand the organisation.
What’s something people are often surprised to learn about you?
I think people are typically surprised to learn two things about me. Firstly, I am a pop culture buff, and secondly, I conversationally speak two tribal dialects for which formal translation does not exist - Hmong and Bajan Patois!
