Inspiring the next generation of apprentices

National Apprenticeship Week is the perfect moment to shine a light on the incredible early‑career talent shaping the future of Chemring.

Our team at Chemring Countermeasures UK (CCM UK) recently had the pleasure of meeting hundreds of enthusiastic students at Salisbury 6th Form College Apprenticeship Fair. They answered questions about the early careers programme at Chemring, shared real stories from our current and past apprentices, and showcased the diverse career routes available across CCM UK and the wider Chemring group.

Career fairs like this are invaluable as they give young people the chance to explore opportunities first‑hand, speak directly with those already on the apprenticeship journey, and discover pathways they may never have considered.

Hear more from four of our Chemring Group apprentices:

Lindsay, HR Assistant – CCM UK

“I’m working towards a Level 3 Chartered Institute of Professional Development (CIPD) apprenticeship. The best part of my apprenticeship is learning new skills and stepping up in my role. It’s a fantastic opportunity to work and learn at the same time.”

Jasper, Apprentice Engineer – Roke

“My apprenticeship with Roke has so far been the most enjoyable time of my life. Every day, I’m surrounded by intelligent and supportive people, where I’m motivated to do my best work.

Between internal training at Roke and spending time at university, I’ve been equipped with the skills to take on extraordinary projects that make a real difference in the world.”

Ryan, Apprentice Engineer – CCM UK

“I really enjoy my apprenticeship at CCM. It has allowed me to experience many different aspects of engineering and has helped me plot my future career pathway. I also love that my day-to-day life at CCM is filled with new and exciting challenges.”

Connor, Apprentice Engineer - CCM UK

"I've really enjoyed my apprenticeship. I've learned so much and have been trusted with a variety of responsibilities that have helped shape my development."
